It's the State of Alaska's official sport, it's the reason the breed exists. Mushing is the premier sport for sled dogs world wide. It started as transportation in Northern most regions, and when technology began taking over, the men and women who loved their companions fought for a way to save the most amazing creature on earth. The Alaskan Husky/Sled Dog can run farther, faster, than most any other animal in the world. They should be revered. That's why races like the Iditarod and Yukon Quest were created. That's why they need to stay. That's why I follow.
