2024 Yukon Quest (Canada) musher roster

Whitehorse is gonna be busy this weekend as it sees the start of the 2024 Yukon Quest (Canadian side). Cold temperatures and icy conditions have modified the start plans and played a role in roster changes. Still, there's a strong list of teams in the 450 and 100 races. The 250 saw the largest drop in names with just two remaining. There are two mushers still trying to make it to the race - given special permission to be late - as their dog truck died on them shortly after entering Canada and they had to be towed back to Tok, Alaska. Fingers are crossed the Squids make it to the starting line (as such they do not have bib numbers as they missed the draw.)

As stated on the previous roster for the Alaskan Quest you kinda wonder what the races would look like if the boards would combine efforts, find a common ground, and put on another 1000 mile race crossing the border... with a 300 and 100 in the mix as well. Pipe dreams...

The YQ250 originally had 4 names on the roster, but two dropped out last minute so the two teams still in it were given two bibs (guessing due to sponsor commitments).

But you're just here to learn about the teams, not to get all the random details of drama. Let's get to it.

2023 Yukon Quest Canada musher roster and preview

With the Yukon Quest Alaska winding down, there's no real time to catch a breath as Yukon Quest Canada begins this weekend. Deep breath! This one is a tad shorter, and fewer teams, so hopefully we can make it through this... and the other races running this weekend. I know, I know, I'm starting to lose my mind a bit, too.

This year the Canadian side are hosting three different races based on mileage, a 100, 250, and 450. Each class has just a handful of teams, but they should still be an exciting trio of races to follow. So let's get a run down, shall we?

As always, the roster is in alphabetical order and will be edited with bib numbers as soon as they are released.

How to watch

The race is on! Well, almost. For those confused because we just followed a Quest race all last week, this is the Canadian side. You may remember that last year the two boards got into a tiff and decided to split. That divorce saw Alaska having to create a new online presence, where as the Canadian side got the Website, social media platforms, and most of the fans.

Social Media
Best way to follow along is going to be through the Yukon Quest Facebook page - like with all divorces, one side gets all the goods and the Canadian side got everything when the two boards split and created two races. You can find the Yukon Quest page up and running and very Canadian these days. Make sure to follow the page as they are promising live feeds and lots of commentary. Don't forget Twitter and Instagram. They got those in the divorce, too.

They plan to do live streams on their Facebook, and Sebastian Schnuelle will no doubt write up a few reports throughout the race.

Trackers
And of course the beloved trackers will be LIVE once again to follow this race. Check back when the link goes live we'll add to this post.

It's another big race with a small roster, but the roster for the 450 is fierce. Should be a good watch. Comment below with how you'll be watching and who you are rooting for!

2022 Yukon Quest (Canada Side) Musher Rosters

Once again I am hastily finishing up this list the day of the race, but here they are. Like the Alaska side of the Quest, the Canadian side had small rosters so I'm including both races. You can follow the race via trackleaders as always, and of course check out the official website and facebook page for all the latest greatest information. I apologize for not doing another write up. I could list a bunch of reasons why but that may have to be a separate blog post. Thanks for hanging in with me! Now onto the rosters!

As always, comment below with any thoughts about the roster, or any corrections.
